Asia Unbound Marks A New Era Of Private Touring With UTG

The Unbound Travel Group expands its award-winning approach to bespoke travel across Asia with the launch of Asia Unbound.

With the new website now live, this venture builds on almost two decades of expertise developed through the group’s flagship brands India Unbound and Sri Lanka Unbound, both of which have earned loyal followings for their personal service, expert planning, and deeply local approach to travel.

Asia Unbound is a natural expansion of this foundation - extending the same signature touch that guests have come to love across a wider region including Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Bhutan, Laos, Cambodia, Taiwan, Malaysia, South Korea, and the Philippines.

Unbound Travel Group Adapts To Changing Travel Landscape

In 2025, Aussie travellers are increasingly setting their sights on Asia, driven by stronger air connectivity, favourable exchange rates and rising appetite for cultural immersion. According to the ATIA Travel Trends report, outbound travel from Australia jumped 10.6 % year on year, with much of that growth concentrated in Asia. Outbound trips to Indonesia, Japan, China and Vietnam have surged, fuelling a broader “Asia boom” in Australian travel.

With Asia’s mix of proximity, diversity and strong value, more Australians are looking beyond short getaways and choosing to explore the region in greater depth. Lincoln Harris, Managing Director of the Unbound Travel Group, says the trend reflects a broader shift in how Australians want to travel.

“Over the years, we’ve seen a clear move away from large group tours, particularly when we see large parts of Europe outright rejecting mass tourism,” said Harris. “Travellers now want flexibility, authenticity and genuine connection - not crowds or fixed schedules.”

Every Asia Unbound travel itinerary is crafted around each traveller’s interests, combining private drivers, expert local guides, and hand-picked accommodation from boutique retreats to five-star hotels. Itineraries are structured into six styles - Quintessential, Classic, In Depth, Luxury, Family, and Backroads - allowing travellers to explore at their own pace and comfort level.

“Asia Unbound builds on what we’ve developed through India Unbound and Sri Lanka Unbound, bringing the same depth of insight, care and seamless logistics to a wider region. More Australians are also being drawn to Asia for practical reasons. With the cost of living driving value-conscious decisions, shorter flights and an incredible variety of cultures, landscapes and cuisines close to home, Asia has become the natural choice for private, experience-led travel,” Harris adds.

The Unbound Travel Group now offers a cohesive portfolio of brands united by one philosophy: to design journeys that go beyond sightseeing and reveal the real Asia through people, stories, and place.

Asia Unbound officially launches in October 2025, with a new website showcasing curated itineraries, regional insights, and planning tools for both travellers and agents now live. To find out more, please email [email protected] or make an enquiry.
