Remarkable East Expands Into Vietnam Small Group Touring
Remarkable East, the small-group touring brand of The Unbound Travel Group, has announced the launch of a new small group tour through Vietnam, designed for culturally curious travellers seeking depth, connection, and discovery.
At a time when Vietnam continues to captivate travellers with its mix of history, landscapes, and vibrant daily life, Remarkable East offers a route that showcases the country’s highlights alongside lesser-known experiences. Carefully crafted for a maximum of 12 guests, the experience balances major sites with moments of calm and insight, from bustling cities to quiet countryside. The 14 day itinerary, Essence of Vietnam, is now open for bookings and will begin departures from March 2026.
Demand for Vietnam surging amongst Australian travellers
Vietnam remains one of Asia’s most dynamic destinations, welcoming more than 12 million international visitors in 2024. Its appeal lies in diversity - from UNESCO-listed towns and colonial architecture to soaring mountains, rice terraces, and coastal charm - all within easy reach.
In recent years, Australians have shown an increasing appetite for Vietnam, with visitor numbers now well above pre-pandemic levels. In 2023, around 390,000 Australians travelled to Vietnam, surpassing the 383,000 who visited in 2019.
The trend has only accelerated, with the first five months of 2024 alone welcoming more than 213,000 Australians - a 35% increase year-on-year - placing Australia firmly among Vietnam’s top inbound markets. Early 2025 figures highlight this momentum further, showing a 54% rise in Australian trips compared to the same period in 2019.
“Vietnam has a way of drawing you in with its energy and generosity,” said Lincoln Harris, Managing Director of The Unbound Travel Group. “Our new small group tour responds to growing interest from our Australian community, while staying true to our ethos of meaningful, small-group travel. With Essence of Vietnam, we’ve created a journey that feels complete without feeling rushed.”
What guests can expect on the road in Vietnam
The itinerary moves south to north, weaving together iconic highlights and immersive encounters:
Exploring hidden wartime bunkers and lively Chinatown alleys in Ho Chi Minh City
Journeying by speedboat to the Cu Chi Tunnels and by sampan through the Mekong Delta
Discovering the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An and trying traditional lantern making
Sampling Hue’s imperial cuisine and hearing personal stories from a Nguyen dynasty princess
Strolling through Hanoi’s Old Quarter and enjoying rooftop views over the capital
Cycling through rural villages and ending the day with a sunset river cruise
Spending two nights on Ha Long Bay, with kayaking, cave visits, and dining under the stars
Essence of Vietnam has been designed for travellers who want the convenience of a guided journey, but still value personal space and time for independent discovery. It is well suited to those who may be visiting Vietnam for the first time, as well as those seeking a richer return visit.
“Our approach is about creating room for connection - with locals, with fellow travellers, and with the destination itself,” Harris added. “By limiting our groups and choosing experiences carefully, we can offer something that feels genuine and considered.”
The tour is priced from AUD $6,495 per person, twin share. Inclusions cover accommodation, most meals, domestic flights, transport, entrance fees, tips, and all guided experiences. Departures are available from March 2026 and bookings can be made directly through the Remarkable East website or via selected partner agents.
