2026 Special Interest Tour Collection Now Live
Remarkable East, the small group touring brand of Unbound Travel Group, has announced the launch of its 2026 Special Interest Tour Collection. These one-off journeys have been designed for travellers seeking a deeper way to experience Asia through active exploration, cultural immersion and shared interests.
Each departure is limited to a maximum of 12 guests, staying true to the Remarkable East philosophy of small groups, thoughtful pacing and meaningful local connection. Rather than repeating fixed annual departures, these tours are limited edition experiences that explore Asia through a specific theme, such as cycling coastal Japan to walking South Korea’s lesser known landscapes.
“With these journeys we wanted to create something a little different,” said Lincoln Harris, Managing Director of Unbound Travel Group. “Each tour focuses on a particular passion or way of travelling, bringing together a small group of like minded guests who want to explore Asia in a deeper and more engaging way.”
Four Limited Edition Journeys Across Asia
The 2026 collection features four special interest departures, each carefully designed around a unique theme and hosted experience.
Trails Of Ulleungdo
South Korea Walking Tour | Mon 8 Jun - Sat 20 Jun 2026
Escape the crowds for one of South Korea’s most dramatic island landscapes. Ulleungdo rises sharply from the East Sea with forested peaks, volcanic cliffs and small fishing communities. Daily walks reveal coastal paths, mountain viewpoints and the unique culture of an island that few international visitors ever reach.
Luxury Lanna Renewal
Thailand Wellness Retreat | Tue 13 Oct - Sat 17 Oct 2026
Set in the mountains of northern Thailand, this journey focuses on wellbeing, restoration and balance. Based at a luxury retreat near Chiang Mai, the programme blends yoga, mindfulness, traditional therapies and time in nature. Guests experience a slower pace of travel while exploring northern Thailand’s culture, cuisine and landscapes.
Cycling The Setouchi
Japan Cycling Tour | Thu 22 Oct - Thu 29 Oct 2026
This cycling journey follows one of Japan’s most celebrated coastal routes across the Seto Inland Sea. Travellers ride between islands connected by elegant bridges, passing fishing villages, citrus groves and quiet harbour towns. Along the way, guests experience regional cuisine, coastal scenery and the rhythm of life in rural Japan.
Hills Of Sikkim
India Walking Tour | Tue 17 Nov - Tue 1 Dec 2026
This Himalayan adventure explores the quiet mountain landscapes of North East India. Travelling through villages, monasteries and forested valleys, guests walk historic trading paths that connect remote communities. The experience combines gentle trekking with cultural encounters and insight into a region rarely explored by international travellers.
Why Special Interest Travel Is Growing
Travellers today are increasingly looking for journeys built around shared passions rather than traditional sightseeing itineraries. Cycling, walking, wellness and cultural exploration all offer opportunities to experience destinations in a more personal and engaging way.
By limiting each tour to a small group, Remarkable East creates space for deeper connection with both the destination and fellow travellers. Guests often join these journeys not only to explore new places but to travel alongside others who share similar interests.
“Small group travel works best when everyone feels connected to the journey,” Harris added. “By designing these departures around specific themes, we’re able to bring together travellers who genuinely want to experience Asia in the same way.”
Looking ahead, Remarkable East is already developing additional Special Interest journeys for future seasons. Early concepts include a wildlife focused expedition in Borneo centred on orangutan habitats and rainforest conservation, alongside a Vietnam culinary journey exploring regional food traditions from street markets to family kitchens. These tours will continue the brand’s focus on small groups, meaningful experiences and deeper exploration across Asia.
Limited Departures For 2026
The Special Interest Tour Collection will operate as limited departures during 2026, with each journey available only once. Group sizes are capped at 12 guests in order to maintain the intimate and carefully curated style of travel that defines Remarkable East. Full itineraries, departure dates and booking information are now available through the Remarkable East website or via selected travel partners.
