India Unbound Launches The Unbound Travel Group

India Unbound, a specialist in private travel and touring to India since 2007, has announced the launch of The Unbound Travel Group - a new umbrella company created to formally unite its expanding family of travel brands. 

This strategic rebrand reflects the company’s evolution from a single-country operator into a broader network offering curated travel experiences across Asia.

The Unbound Travel Group will serve as the parent company to three established brands:

  • India Unbound, offering tailor-made private tours throughout India

  • Sri Lanka Unbound, providing private journeys across Sri Lanka

  • Remarkable East, specialising in small-group tours (maximum 12 guests) in destinations such as India, Sri Lanka, and Japan, with Vietnam, Taiwan, and South Korea to be added in 2025

While each brand will continue to operate independently with its own focus and identity, the launch of The Unbound Travel Group brings them under a single organisational and strategic framework for the first time.

A New Era For Travel Throughout Asia

According to Lincoln Harris, Founder and Managing Director of the Unbound Travel Group, this rebrand marks an important milestone - one that reflects how the business has evolved over the past two decades, and sets the foundation for its future direction.

“The time was right to give structure to what had already organically grown,” said Harris. “We’ve built trusted, specialist brands over the years, each with its own strengths, but now we need a clear way to show how they connect. The Unbound Travel Group allows us to scale more effectively, communicate our vision, and better serve our travellers and industry partners.”

The rebrand also paves the way for the launch of a fourth brand, Asia Unbound, which will debut in late 2025. In a similar vein to the services offered through India Unbound and Sri Lanka Unbound, Asia Unbound will focus on custom private touring across a wider range of destinations including Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand.

The creation of The Unbound Travel Group allows for shared resources across the brands - including marketing, technology, and operational systems - while preserving the distinct character and market appeal of each. It also positions the company to expand its international reach, having traditionally focused on the Australian market.

“Over the past twelve months, we’ve expanded our team, upgraded our digital platforms, and refined our operations,” said Harris. “With the Unbound Travel Group now in place, we’re ready to reintroduce ourselves to the industry - especially to the loyal agents who have supported us for years - with a clearer structure, better tools, and a broader offering across Asia.”

Despite the structural change, the company’s guiding philosophy remains the same: to offer well-considered, authentic journeys that avoid large group tours and mass-market travel. Whether through a handcrafted private itinerary or an expertly led small-group tour, every trip is designed with care, insight, and local knowledge.

The Unbound Travel Group remains Australian-owned and operated, with team members based in Australia, India, and Sri Lanka. It serves independent travellers, travel agents, and partner organisations with a strong emphasis on personalised service and regional expertise.
